The New Palestine girls basketball team had a solid start, but eventually fell 43-27 to Greenfield-Central Friday night in the first half of a boys-girls doubleheader.
Haley Stratman knocked down two first-quarter 3-pointers and scored eight points in the game’s first 10 minutes to stake the Dragons to a 12-7 lead. But G-C closed the half on a 13-3 run to lead the Dragons by five going into the break — with Raegan McMurray’s three-point play stemming the tide for New Palestine.
In the game, McMurray and Stratman each finished with eight points. Carly Hackler added five points, three steals six rebounds. Katlyn Keele had 10 boards. Emma Laughlin had two assists.
The Dragons (3-5, 2-2 HHC) next play Tuesday at Mt. Vernon.
