Multiple Teams · VB pushes New Castle to limit


The New Palestine volleyball team had a strong match against perennial power New Castle. The Dragons pushed NC to the limit in the last two games before falling 25-15, 28-26, 27-25.

Allison Dennemann led the NP attack with 17 kills, three blocks and three aces. Kara Morris had a double-double with 30 assists and a team-high 13 digs. Mia Long had a strong game at the net with six kills and 12 digs.

“I am proud of the way the girls fought back after game one,” NP coach Kelli Whitaker said. “New Castle is a great team with some high caliber players. We really challenged them in set two and three. We are playing right with the top team in the conference.”

The Dragons are now 8-7. They next play Monday at home against Franklin Central, followed by a conference match at home against Yorktown the next night.
