Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Soccer · Boys soccer falls to Center Grove

The New Palestine boys soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision to Center Grove Tuesday night.

Ryan Miller scored the Dragons’ goal in the second half, assisted by James Pridgen. The game was 1-0 at halftime before CG pulled ahead.

Coach Bobby Holden cited the play of Miller, Pridgen and Isaiah Haynes during the game.

“We played a very good first half of soccer,” Holden said. “Unfortunately, our mistakes came in the second half which gave Center Grove four of their five goals, including the game-winner. Center Grove is a very good team and you can’t give good teams that many opportunities. We know we are capable of playing better soccer for an entire 80 minutes and we will look to do that on Thursday at home against Fishers.”

The Dragons are now 7-4-1 on the season. They host Fishers Thursday in the final home game of the 2014 regular season.

The Dragon JV fell 2-0 to the Trojans.
