Katie Villiger scored a natural hat trick in the first half, powering the New Palestine girls soccer team to a 6-0 shutout of Franklin on Monday.

Villiger scored all three opening-half goals to give the Dragons a 3-0 lead at the break, as she outmuscled Grizzly Cubs in the penalty area for the first two. The third came off a corner kick to Katie Settergren, who fed Villiger for the goal. The win marked her second hat trick of the season and gives her 12 goals.

In the second half, Amy Hilton scored off a perfect through ball from Meaghan Matus, took a touch past the goalkeeper, and then dribbled the ball to the open net. Kathryn Davis made it 5-0 by outrunning defenders to Danielle Matus’ ball off a free kick and scoring. Meaghan Matus added to her point total with a long shot from midfield that slipped through the goalkeeper’s hands to make it 6-0.
