The New Palestine boys tennis team extended its winning streak to nine matches and improved to 11-1 on the season with a 4-1 victory over New Castle on Wednesday.

NP is now 5-1 in HHC play with one conference match remaining, next week against Mt. Vernon.

The Dragons got singles victories from Brent Barrett (6-0, 6-0) and Jake Purcell (6-2, 6-2). At doubles, Ben Farley/David Thompson (6-2, 6-1). and Josh McKinney/Evan Rejer were winners.

“We’ve got a long stretch with several matches this week and next after the county tournament. We’ve got to fight through it and continue preparing for sectional,” Dragons coach Chris Hardin said.

The Dragons next play tonight at Triton Central.

The Dragon JV won 4-2.
