The New Palestine boys soccer team beat Greenwood 6-0 on Tuesday night.

Nick Martin and Jackson Cochran scored two goals each, while Sam Weber and Matt Ernster also scored. Caleb Kramer, Ryan Miller, Caleb Eagleson, Chris Poturalski and C.J. Ritzi had assists.

Coach Bobby Holden also cited the play of Kyle Doss in the midfield, in addition to the goal scorers.

“We got good play from all of our varsity players this evening, including many that don’t normally get as much time,” Holden said. “We got good goals from a few of those players, showing our depth at every position. We got a great game-winning goal from Sam Weber with a diving header in the first half.

“We’re looking forward to this Thursday night at home against conference rival Greenfield-Central. Hope to see a giant red student section ready to cheer us on.”

NP has now won five straight and is 7-2-1 on the year.

The Dragons and Cougars will play Thursday with a 7 p.m. varsity start. JV begins at 5:30 p.m. Dragon Radio will broadcast the game.

The Dragons won the JV match 3-0.
