Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Soccer · Soccer falls to Guerin

The New Palestine boys soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 decision to the defending Class A state champion Guerin Catholic Eagles Thursday night.

Guerin scored the game-winner in the second half, giving NP its first regulation loss of the year.

Coach Bobby Holden cited the strong play of Bo Owens, Caleb Kramer and Alex Warfield.

“It was a hard-fought even game in which we missed our chances, and they finished one of theirs,” NP coach Bobby Holden said. “We’ll regroup this Saturday at Warren Central.”

Kickoff for the NP-Warren Central game is noon. It, like tonight’s game, is a make-up game from the first week of the season.

The Dragons are now 2-2-1.
