Boys Middle School Cross Country, Boys Varsity Cross Country · CC teams compete at PH


The New Palestine cross country teams competed in Wednesday’s Pendleton Heights Arabian Roundup. The boys placed fifth of 18 teams, and the girls placed sixth of 17 teams.
Sophomore Samuel Voelz was the event’s runner-up, running a time of 17:07. Mt. Vernon’s Aaron Rush (16:40) was the champion. NP junior Riley Wilson was 13th (18:15). Chase Crowder was 22nd, Drew Legan 39th and Tyler Carrie 55th.
The Dragon girls were sixth of 17 teams. Senior Marissa Crosby led the Dragons with a 19th-place finish (22:10). Mattie Waggoner placed 42nd, Bailey Wallace 59th, Natalie Lindsey 61st and Izzy Fleetwood 63rd.
Emma Wiggington’s 47th-place finish led the girls JV, while Adam Brickens’ ninth-place run led the boys JV.
The Dragons next compete Saturday in the Noblesville Invitational.
