Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Girls soccer competes in scrimmage

The Dragon girls soccer team opened the year by competing in a scrimmage Saturday against Heritage Christian.

NP was outscored 3-0 in three 25-minute sessions, with the three goals all coming in the middle session played by the New Palestine JV game against mixture of Heritage varsity players and subs.

In the two varsity sessions, the teams were scoreless, as the Dragons made some adjustments and were able to get some strong scoring chances as the evening went on.

“Overall, we did not play badly, but not up to our potential, either,” NP coach Gina Fannin said.

The Dragons open the regular season Monday at Perry Meridian.

“Perry Meridian is always a physical and skilled opponent,” Fannin said. “We need to rise to the challenge early this season.
